Properties: White crystalline powder with a density of 1.46g/cm³, hardness is slightly softer than KDP, brittle, and rarely cleavage. Soluble in water, slightly soluble in alcohol, ether, acetone, insoluble in benzene, methyl ethyl ketone and chloroform. The light transmission band is 1.2 to 0.25 & mu; m, and the light transmittance is nearly 90%. The melting point of lithium formate monohydrate is 97 ° C, water loss at 120 ° C, crystal form conversion at 230 ° C, 270 ° C is the melting point of anhydrous lithium formate, CHCOOLi is decomposed into Li₂ CO at 320 °C 3, C, H₂O.

Uses: Lithium formate crystals have high nonlinear coefficient, high optical damage threshold, wide transmission range, and extend to the ultraviolet, and the Nd:YAG laser 1.06μm laser can realize the characteristics of triple frequency and quadruple frequency. It is an excellent nonlinear optical crystal material and is also commonly used in battery manufacturing.
