POLYOX™ WSR 301 is a non-ionic poly(ethylene oxide) polymer used for thickening, binding, and lubrication in drift control, concrete, ceramic, personal care, and adhesive applications.

Product Overview

POLYOX™ WSR 301 is a water-soluble, non-ionic poly(ethylene oxide) polymer with a molecular weight of 4,000,000. One of the most versatile POLYOX™ grades available, POLYOX™ WSR 301 is used in many industries. POLYOX™ WSR 301 allows for the reduction of drift in agricultural sprays. It reduced the frictional drag of water allowing for spray pressure to be reduced and droplet size to be controlled. When used as a thickener in concrete and cement POLYOX™ 301 provides a pseudoplastic rheology that improves the workability of the concrete and makes them easier to pump. Adding 25 PPM of POLYOX™ 301 in a concrete formulation can lower the pumping pressure of concrete by 16% and allows for a 20-30% reduction of air entraining agents. POLYOX™ 301 is a highly efficient binder and when used in ceramic applications it burns out clean and decreases extrusion pressure. POLYOX™ 301 is commonly used as the primary resin in lubricant strips for razors due to the lubricity it provides. Additionally, POLYOX™ 301 has a high degree of wet tack but will dry to be tack free. This property is important for tail-tie paper adhesives.
