USES
Retardan®-200 P provides excellent performance in the adjustment of setting time and workability of calcium sulphate binders, especially in neutral to slightly alkaline alpha and beta-hemihydrate binders. The product is especially suitable for the following applications:
▪Production of self-levelling screeds and underlayments
▪ Production of moulding and modelling plaster
▪ Production of dental and medical plaster
CHARACTERISTICS / ADVANTAGES
The characteristics and advantages of Retardan®-200 P include:
▪ Highly efficient set-retardation at very low dosages Increased workability time for calcium sulphate based plasters and mortars up to several hours, depending on dosage
▪ Compatible with a variety of calcium sulphate binder types and with other additives, such as Sika® ViscoCrete® superplasticizers
▪ Retardan®-200 P allows the preparation of large volume mixes and thus reduces the overall costs of the application
▪ No reduction in the final strength of gypsum based products (unlike with several fruit acid based retarders)
▪ Uniform quality ensures a stable manufacturing process and production running as well as uniformity and homogeneity of the final gypsum product
▪ Ecologically safe and free of formaldehyde
Recommended Dosage
Typical dosage range: 0.001 - 0.01 % by weight of binder
Differences in calcium sulphate binder type, raw material sources, calcining methods, age and storage conditions of the binder and other conditions and factors at the plant and/or on-site can also infuence the setting time of gypsum binders and therefore the dosage requirements of Retardan®-200 P.

Compatibility
Retardan®-200 P may be combined with many other Sika products and most commonly uesed gypsum additives including superplasticizers, foaming agents / defoamers and stabilizers. In these combinations e.g. with Sika® ViscoCrete® superplasticizers additional improvements in flow and
setting-time adjustment can also be achieved.

Dispensing
Retardan®-200 P is added directly to the dry-mix.
